Publishing Transcription Services

Transcribing projects for authors and journalists is a challenge we all enjoy! We are happy to work from handwritten hard copies as well as audio recordings and can take segments at a time rather than an entire project if preferred. Due to our outstanding expertise in transcription, we are happy to amend grammar and add punctuation as we go along at no extra cost.

We charge per 1000 words if the project is typed up using a hard copy and per recorded minute if the format we are sent is in the form of an audio recording. We use the standard preferred format for manuscripts but are also happy to work to whatever formatting style is required.

McGowan Transcriptions have produced, one from audio and two from copy, three published books from two different authors, and are currently working on a 'work in progress' for a third. Before joining McGowan Transcriptions two senior transcribers have assisted authors with various projects, and another has written four of her own books and is about to self-publish.

Each transcriber/typist abides by strict rules of confidentiality and has signed in-depth confidentiality agreements, so you can be sure that the details of any project we are involved in will not leave McGowan Transcriptions.
